In recent weeks our Development Team has been getting out and about; away from their home offices and out to the sites of the developments we have financed.

We have remained committed to lending across our range since the first lockdown began in March, whether that be new business or ensuring the cashflow for existing developments.

Working closely with developers has been key throughout this, whether it is giving them more time after Covid delays or ensuring the quick delivery of their drawdowns to ease cashflow concerns, it has been great to see these properties come to fruition over the summer.

Our Development Finance team has been busy visiting sites to check on progress and see how the developers we work with have adapted to Covid restrictions:

Before and after in Kent

Steve Larkin, our head of development finance, went out to visit this repeat client who is nearing completion on their largest project with us to date.

Here are some pictures we have taken on a number of different visits Steve has made to this site, charting the client’s progress over the period and being part of the journey alongside them.

30 house development

James Russell, Relationship Director, visited this site recently to check on progress, which had been maintained throughout the lockdown period. With marketing launched, 60% of sales are already agreed.

Smaller-scale developments

Mike Jessop, relationship manager, has been visiting sites across the country, including this site where the developer is building four detached houses in Norfolk.

Demolition

This developer purchased an existing bungalow before demolishing to create space for a 3-storey, 5 unit apartment block in South East London.

Basement excavation

This project was a refurbishment and extension project – which included a basement excavation – of an existing former office building into eight apartments in South London.
