LendInvest in the Press: Our Fastest Bridging Deal and New Ways to Profit
Recently the LendInvest deal team completed the fastest ever bridging deal in under 3 days, setting a new benchmark for our company. We’ve also been nominated for the European FinTech Awards, which recognises FinTech companies from all over Europe. Here are some of the places we’ve been mentioned in the press:
Our fastest bridging deal
We pride ourselves on bringing speed to the property mortgage industry and this month we’ve set a benchmark with our fastest ever bridging deal. In under three days from inquiry we were able to move from inquiry . The story was featured in Mortgage Introducer, Bridging Loan Directory and Mortgage Solutions.
Expansion to Scotland
As we continue in our mission to reinvent the property finance market, we’re rapidly expanding our team and our business beyond London and the Southeast. With that in mind, we’re now planning to lend in Scotland, so we’re recruiting a Scotland-based Business Development Manager to join the LendInvest team. At a later date this will hopefully result in the launch of a Scottish office with local sales, underwriting and case management expertise. This story was picked up in Crowdfund Insider, Mortgage Introducer and the Financial Reporter among others.
Co-living across the globe
Our borrower Reza Merchant, founder of The Collective, featured in an article in The Memo about coliving across the globe. Aimed at young professionals, his coliving spaces offer compact boutique studio bedrooms and a “hassle-free” living experience, including concierge service and room cleaning as standard. Coworking spaces and coliving spaces are big trends to watch out for in the property sector in 2016. Reza says; “Co-living creates a genuine sense of community alongside access to so many more amenities than you would get in a flatshare.” Reza borrowed from us to fund his Collectives in Camden and Acton.
Sonovate maps the FinTech market
Recruitment finance provider Sonovate has created a useful guide mapping the FinTech market in 2016, featuring LendInvest. The guide examines what FinTech actually is, analyses the current situation for the FinTech sector and looks ahead to the challenges it will face. Sonovate also takes a look at the various emerging subsectors and hot jobs for 2016. Want to work at LendInvest? Take a look at our careers page.
Shares Magazine: New Way to Profit
Our CEO Christian Faes wrote an article for Shares Magazine about new ways to profit. With tougher tax treatment on many landlords, some may start looking at alternative destinations for their money, such as marketplace platforms. He writes; “While stamp duty tax will rise for landlords this year and mortgage interest changes may dent their returns from 2017, the Government is making life even better for property marketplace lenders. From later this year, marketplaces will begin to be eligible for ISA wrappers, meaning that, in due course, an investor can lend up to £15,240 and receive back every penny of interest, tax free.”
Matthew Tooth interviewed by Mortgage Strategy
Our Head of Distribution Matt Tooth was interviewed by Mortgage Strategy about how online lenders are innovating to transform the mortgage process, and challenges the sector will face in the next 12 months.
He says; “Just as smartphones transformed the way we all buy food and clothes, book our travel or find practically anything in the world, LendInvest and other online lenders are innovating to transform the mortgage process, making it simpler, cheaper and faster.”
Entrepreneurial Vision
Our CEO Christian wrote an opinion piece for The Memo Weekly Newsletter entitled ‘Entrepreneurs: You have to have a vision – and you have to stick to that vision.‘ Talking about his own entrepreneurial journey he says, “Founding a business is a bit like the extreme sports I haven’t time to do: it’s an exhilarating ride, often the views are beautiful, but it takes a long time to get right and sometimes it just really hurts.” His top three tips for success? Have a vision, own up to your mistakes and be clear that you’re in it for the long haul.
