LendInvest’s Culture & Community Committee

At LendInvest, a fun, friendly and diverse culture is at the heart of everything we do and a key contributor to this is our Culture & Community Committee, which is an employee-led group, focusing on:

  • Charity fundraising
  • Company socials
  • Employee engagement

Our C&C Committee comes together on a monthly basis, to plan and organise events and activities for the whole company to take part in, in order to maintain a motivating, fun workplace culture, which is incredibly important to everyone at LendInvest. The committee then feeds into our board-level ESG committee, focusing on the social aspects.

Taking the lead on hosting fundraising events and activities for our chosen charity partner of the year, we have organised everything from bake sales, to pub quizzes, race nights and Tough Mudder events. Previously our charity partners have been Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Crohn’s & Colitis UK, Motor Neurone Disease Association and Mind.

The group also plans and organises social events throughout the year, which are often in line with seasonal occasions such as Christmas, St Patrick’s Day or Movember. Alternatively we will host “just because” events, which bring together around 30-40 people across the business to try out a new activity together. The goal of these events is to encourage individuals to spend time together and interact with new people throughout the company, ‘just because’ we want to spend time getting to know each other in a social setting as well as at work.. A recent ‘just because’ activity was our trip to the newly opened FairGame (a large indoor funfair for adults) in Canary Wharf, which was very well attended by the most competitive individuals across the company!

Alongside our London & Glasgow offices, we also have a number of remote workers, so we are always keen to make our C&C activities as inclusive and accessible for as many people as possible. We host regular virtual coffee mornings, which can be a great way to get to know colleagues who we may not work with directly. We also recently held a winter photography competition, which resulted in some fantastic submissions!
