A fresh approach to real estate investing: Q&A with our new director of fundraising, Harry Hall

Harry Hall recently joined LendInvest, here he talks about why he joined LendInvest and the exciting challenge that lies ahead.
Where have you joined LendInvest from?
I have joined LendInvest from Allspring Global Investments (formerly Wells Fargo Asset Management), where I was a Sales Director in the UK Institutional market. Previously I was at BlackRock working with large UK DB pension scheme investors.
How long have you been working in the investment industry?
10 years. I started in 2013 interning at a hedge fund in Los Angeles, before (reluctantly) coming home to finish my Masters and start working in the City.
Tell us about your role?
I have joined as Director of Fundraising, within the funds management business of LendInvest. My role is to build relationships and raise capital for our range of investment solutions from clients across the globe. These include family offices, pension funds, insurance companies, asset managers and other institutions.
What will your day-to-day look like at LendInvest?
My primary role day-to-day will be talking to / meeting with clients and prospects. Travel will be key, visiting clients globally to meet face-to-face and build relationships. I also manage the wider sales team so will have a focus on capital raising strategy and how to build our presence in the market.
What attracted you to working at LendInvest?
My attraction to LendInvest came both from the company itself and the product. I was excited to work for an ambitious, entrepreneurial company. From my first interview I found LendInvest forward thinking with big plans, and a refreshing culture promoting both fun and hard work.
On product I saw something that was genuinely innovative and differentiated in the market, backed by a business with a fantastic story to tell. I knew I would be able to speak passionately about who we are, what we do and the value we bring.
What are you most excited about working on?
Having been on garden leave for three months, working itself is actually quite exciting (I know, eye roll!).
Short term I am excited to be working on crafting our messaging and story, how we best showcase our capabilities and differentiate ourselves. Real estate debt is also quite new to me, so I’m excited to learn from the expertise I now have around me.
Mostly though I am excited to be seeing clients and driving success for the funds business.
