Behind the Scenes: 10 Questions with Hannah Kinn, Senior Compliance Manager

This post is the first in our Behind the Scenes series, focusing on getting to know more about the people at LendInvest beyond their roles. Today’s piece is featuring Hannah Kinn, Senior Compliance Manager.
Hannah joined LendInvest 4 years ago and has progressed from Compliance Analyst to Senior Compliance Manager, working across both our lending and investment activities. We asked Hannah 10 questions to understand more about her life outside of work:
1.What was your first job?
My first job was working as a “ride host” at Southend Adventure Island. I spent a lot of that summer listening to a jungle themed soundtrack, which was mainly just a lion roaring and still lives in my nightmares!
2.What is your favourite book?
This is a tough one as I have quite a lot of favourites but some I would highly recommend are:
- 19 Minutes by Jodi Picoult
- P.S I love you by Cecelia Ahern
- I am Death by Chris Carter
I would also recommend anything these authors have written as I have read them all.
3.If you could master one skill what would it be?
Cooking – I love to cook but always have to follow a recipe. I would love to be able to open my fridge and cupboard, see what I have and be able to throw a delicious meal together.
4.What is your all time favourite film?
The same as book’s I have quite a few favourites that I could watch again and again some of these are:
- Shawshank Redemption
- Clueless
- Pulp Fiction
- Saving Private Ryan
- Shutter Island
5.What pets do you have and what are their names?
I have a 9 week old puppy called Titan. Titan is a Bernese Mountain Dog and is probably the cutest thing I have ever seen.
6.What is your favourite/bucket list holiday destination?
I recently visited Norway which has been on my bucket list for quite a while and was absolutely incredible. The Fjords are as beautiful as you think they will be. Next on my list for a city break will be Vienna, Austria and further away will be Canada.
7.How do you spend your time outside of work?
My partner, Titan (our puppy) and I are looking forward to lots of walks together and Sunday pub lunches. I also spend a lot of time with my family, whom I am very close with. Lastly, my friends, I love trying new restaurants and catching up with a nice cup of tea.
8.How do you like your eggs?
Dippy eggs and soldiers all the way!
9.You have to sing karaoke, what song do you pick?
Anything by Steps, S Club 7 and depending on how brave I am feeling (which equals glasses of wine) I might do Celine Dion and Whitney Houston. But my dad has always said I sound like an angel with a throat infection, so cover your ears.
10.What superpower would you choose and why?
Teleportation – the idea that I could teleport myself to see the sunrise over the Indian Ocean, have lunch in Asia and then have wine and dance in Europe and see the sunset would be pretty incredible.
