After introducing a renewed focus on the digital economy, we’re pleased to see the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport announce her department’s new name as the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, as well as adding ‘digital’ to her own title.
Christian Faes, our co-founder and CEO said:
“With a world-leading digital economy, we have to see the UK government put technology policy as a core priority for this parliament. Today’s news that the Department for Culture, Media and Sport will be renamed to elevate the importance of digital is an good step forward if we are to see real advances in the sector.
“The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport appropriately highlights the work by the Minister for Digital to champion the tech sector. By putting it in the title of the Secretary of State’s position, we hope to see this focus reflected at the most senior levels of government.”
